Tramp For the Lord
Author: Corrie Ten Boom
Price: $5.00

Many Christians know (or should know) that Corrie Ten Boom was a strong Christian woman who was thrown into a Concentration Camp for saving the lives of her Jewish friends. While there, she ministered the word of God and the love of Jesus Christ to her fellow inmates, as well as the Nazi guards. Many lives were saved from Hell because she wasn't afraid to stand up for her beliefs, even though she was being severly persecuted. In "Tramp for the Lord," Corrie Ten Boom herself, tells us what happened AFTER her release from the concentration camp and how she traveled all over the world, preaching the gospel of Christ and telling of her experiences in one of Hitler's worst concentration camps. This is a powerful story of Corrie Ten Boom's life and how miracles do happen. God has awesome plans for all of us, and even through the worst times of our lives, if we follow God's Will, we'll come out the winners in the end. Corrie Ten Boom's life is proof of that.

The Message: Proverbs
Author: Eugene H. Peterson

In easy to understand language , Eugene H. Peterson has translated the book of Proverbs into one that anyone, young and old can read and enjoy. This is especially useful to anyone who has a hard time understanding the book of Proverbs in most Bibles. In this version though, we are given the book of Proverbs in an everyday language. I found this to be a very useful book, especially as I read it right along with the book of Proverbs in my NIV or KJV Bible. I hope that others will now be able to use this book to help them clearly understand God's Word and His Wisdom.

This is the inspirational story of Cassie Bernall, a young Christian woman who became one of the victims at Columbine High School. While there have been arguments over whether or not she really said yes to God before she was murdered, this book isn't about that. Its about a young woman whose life was turned around by Jesus Christ. Even if she did not really say yes in the library of Columbine, she did say Yes to God through the way she lived her life. This is her story. Its a story about a woman who once hated her parents and planned to kill them. Its the story about how she went from a rebellious, hateful, miserable girl to a young woman of God. And this book is proof as to what miracles God can do in a person's life. Its a very inspirational story that will inspire you to be more bold about your faith in Christ. St. Joan of Arc
Author: John Beevers
Price: $10.00

This is the story of a young girl who died when she was only 19. She was no beauty and no scholar. She could not read or write, and yet she changed the history of western Europe. She was burned to death as a heretic and later became a saint by the same church that killed her. In this book, the story of Joan of Arc is told in a simplistic and accurate way. Some still think she was a witch but others, such as myself, believe that she was a strong woman of God who was used by our Lord to do awesome things in her short life. This is the story of a great saint.

Lord of the Flies
Author: William Golding
Price: $6.00

This is a wonderful adventure book that I think everyone should read at least once in their lives. Its the story about a group of young boys stranded on an island and the impact that their surroundings has on them. How they survive and how they drastically change, some from young boys to animals, willing to do anything to survive, including turn on one another. It's a beautifully written, yet tragic book that just happens to be the first novel by William Golding. Not bad for a first timer!

White Fang & Call of the Wild

Here you get two classics by the great Jack London. In Call of the Wild, we once again meet up with a heroic dog who has to ultimately choose between living in man's world or returning to nature. Both books are awesome, especially for students to read. If you're homeschooling your kids, you should definitely have them read these books!

Dangerous Minds
Author: LouAnne Johnson
Price: $6.00

Here is the story story of one teacher who truly changed the lives of her students. She had what they called the class from Hell - 34 inner city kids who she inherited from a teacher that had been "pushed over the edge." She was told that "those kids are dangerous." But LouAnne had a different idea. Where the school system saw 34 unreachable kids, LouAnne Johnson saw young men and women with intelligence and dreams. When others gave up on them, she broke the rules to give them the best things that a teacher could give: hope and belief in themselves. When statistics showed the chances that they'd never graduate, she fought to beat the odds. This is her story.....and theirs. Its the true story of one teacher who bullied, bluffed, and bribed her students into caring about school. While the R rated movie may be to hard for some people to handle, this book can be read by anyone over the age of about 14 or 15. Its such an inspiring story and it makes you wish that all public school teachers where as comassionate and caring as LouAnne Johnson is. Based on a true story.

The Girls in the Back of the Class

She went out on tough urban streets to track down Simoa, she faced a dangerously angry father to get pretty and talened Araceli into art school, and she fought drug pushers, trouble making drop outs, and burned out teachers to leave her kids alone. Author: Jane Austen
Price: $6.00

Emma Woodhouse is introduced to us as "handsome, clever, and rich" and according to Jane Austen, a heroin, "which no one but myself would like." The comedy turns on Emma's self appointed role as energetic match maker for her sweet, silly friend Harriet. Emma herself, is confidently immune to the charms of the male sex. Her emotional coming of age is woven into what Ronal Blythe has called "the happiest of love stories, the most fiendishly difficult of detective stories, and a matchless repository of English wit." Here is a must have for any Jane Austen fan.

And it’ll answer the questions that those left behind will be asking, such as: “Who left and where did they go?,” “Who is this great leader that has arisen onto the world scene?,” “What is this New World Order that they’re talking about?.” “Why shouldn’t I believe them?,” “What’s going to happen next?,” “What are my choices?” Besides answering these, and many other questions, the video also features a stunning and realistic dramatization of what will occur after the rapture takes place: looting, fires, car wrecks, violence, confused people running around in a panic, etc. This is a wonderful tool to not only strengthen your faith in Christ, but to use to show your unsaved friends and family members. ”Stand and Deliver”
Price: $12.00

If you love movies that are funny, suspenseful, gripping, compelling, and true, then you’ll love Stand and Deliver! In it, Edward James Olmos gives a wonderful performance as Jaime Escalante, a math teacher at East LA’s Garfield High School. He refuses to write off his inner city students as losers. He cajoles, pushes, wheedles, needles, threatens, and inspires these 18 year olds who were once struggling with fractions and long division to become math whizzes. But are they really ready for the AP calculus exam, and a ticket out of the inner city? What makes this movie so moving is the fact that it’s true! You can’t help but stand up and cheer for the cast of “Stand and Deliver.” Rated PG.
